I commenced pottery classes in 1995 with Margaret Bright after moving back to the hills area from Boddington, where I tried other crafts but always had a strong interest in pottery. Over the years I have mastered the potting wheel creating many functional pieces for use within the home. At present I have been doing more hand building as I feel these pieces are more individual and I enjoy sculpting one-off pieces.
As I live on a 5 acre property I am beginning to experiment more with natural fired pieces such as Raku and saggar firings as these are also very individual and no two pieces are ever the same.
On my property I have an old transportable school building in which I have set up my studio. We are presently renovating this building and in the future hope to be open to the public to visit.
