West Australian born and educated. Cathryn studied pottery at Midland TAFE as part of an Arts course, where she rediscovered a childhood passion for ’playing with mud’. Foundation member of both the Whiteman Park Pottery Association and the Pothole Potters Gallery (1989 – 1995). Cathryn has served on the Whiteman Park Pottery Association committee numerous times, including terms as President, Vice President, Secretary, and Publicity Officer.
Cathryn is known for her detailed lifelike Australian animals as well as her fantasy creations, with each exhibition depending on the mood of the time. Her work has been widely exhibited including numerous solo exhibitions; and is represented in collections both here and overseas.
Past member of the WA Crafts Council. Cathryn taught children's pottery classes for several years in her home studio, and has been a guest artist/teacher at South Perth Primary School, Darlington PS, Middle Swan PS and Darlington Kindy, as well as teaching children as part of the Whiteman Park educational programme during WA Week.
